Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. Her role as the main character on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most popular. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The show ended on August 13, 2012, after the conclusion of the seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, playing Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to a Golden Globe award in 1995 for her role on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born On the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter Patricia Rosenwald, an educator therapy for families, a venture capitalist as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech Therapist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick is a self-described Jewish, and she has said that she participates at Passover seders.
